For one weekend in September, dozens of filmmaking teams from all over the world will be working against the clock to produce, write, edit, and upload a short film. And yeah, you’ve heard of that “make a movie in a weekend” thing before and you’re kind of tired of the lameness of those movies. So were we. That’s why we set up BLOODSHOTS as a make a horror movie in a weekend competition. Because when you’re fighting to stay awake so you can finish your movie, we think it helps to have an evil werewolf midget with an axe standing by to keep you on your toes.
BLOODSHOTS 2008 will once again be an official part of Fantastic Fest, and all completed films will be screened at the Alamo Drafthouse, with the Best Of and Awards screening taking place during the Fantastic Fest film festival itself. The shooting weekend will be September 5-7, and we’ll be emailing registered teams with information about the pre-shooting party and how to get their assignments online if they can’t make it to the party.
The grand prize winning film will receive $500. Second prize will receive $250, and third prize will receive $100 gift certificate to the new Mondo Tees.
